Pippa attended primary and secondary schools in Victoria, Australia.

Before beginning to study acting full time, Pippa balanced acting with her chosen college course Animal Technology (an animal based branch of biology).

Pippa Black spent a few years attempting to secure a big acting role, attending numerous auditions and part readings, before succeeding after Grundy asked her to play the part of Elle Robinson on Neighbours.

Despite many comments about their similarity in looks, Pippa is not related to Australian actress Nicole Kidman.

Pippa has commented about nerves as she joined the cast of Neighbours. Her limited experience and being surrounded by established actors she herself had seen on screen for years contributed. In articles after she had settled Pippa has mentioned embarressing and humour moments on set during those initial tentative months. As she started in Neighbours, Pippa also appeared in a eye liner advert in which she appeared as a nurse who notices the make up on a patient she is treating.

In 2006, after rumours began that Pippa may be dating fellow Neighbours star Dan O'Conner (Ned Parker in the show), the media revealed that she was involved with Fletcher Humphreys who appeared in Neighbours as guest character Guy Sykes.

2007 saw strong rumours that Pippa might leave Neighbours as media sources suggested that they young Australian's contract would not be renewed by the shows producers.

Pippa is a vegetarian and added her voice to the 2007 PETA campaign to encourage people to give up meat. She is also keen to promote greener living encouraging the use of ecologically friendly .

Pippa enjoys flavour laden foods such as those from Italy and Greece. Pippa's favourite food type is Mexican. In keeping with this preference, Pippa often purchases food items like Old El Paso Burrito seasoning and fried beans. Pippa is a fan of outdoor activities such as bush walking and diving, putting the Great Barrier Reef as one of her ideal places to visit.

Pippa's on set Neighbours friends include Stephanie Mcintosh (Pippa appeared in episodes of the short lived fly on the wall documentary The Steph Show) and Natalie Blair (with Pippa and Natalie Blair appearing at various public events when they were both involved with Neighbours).
